The Kids Fishing Shop Debuts New Web Site with 5 Reasons to Take Kids Fishing this Summer

The Kids Fishing Shop Debuts New Web Site with 5 Reasons to Take Kids Fishing this Summer

(PRWEB) July 19, 2011

The Kids Fishing Shop debuted its newly-redesigned web site this week and is marking the occassion by issuing a list of five reasons to take your kids fishing this summer.

While it might be hard to tear them away from their latest iPad app, there are good reasons to take your kids fishing this summer. The Kids Fishing Shop, an online store that specializes in selling kids-only fishing gear – some of which can’t be found anywhere else – gives you five reasons to take your kids fishing this summer.

1.    It’s good for their brains – Fishing requires figuring out what’s working and what’s not and adapting your approach to the situation. Figuring out what the fish you’re trying to catch like to eat and which hooks and lures work best in which fishing situations teaches kids to learn on the fly.

2.    It requires patience – In today’s instant gratification world, kids are used to getting their rewards quickly. Fishing requires patience and teaches them that sometimes, the fun is just in doing something – not in “getting” something.

3.    It’s not as hard as you might think – Even if you’ve never been fishing, today’s fishing rods and reels make learning to fish easier than ever. And, if you’re squeamish about taking the fish off the hook, you can always hire a fishing guide. There are guides in every part of the country.

4.    It will teach them about the environment. – Nowhere is the impact of our actions on the environment more evident than on the water. Bringing your kids to a lake, pond, ocean or stream will bring them face to face with the earth’s delicate eco-system and make them more aware of their own impact on the environment.

5.    It’s good for your family. – There’s a lot of quiet time in fishing. A lot of important things get said in those moments when you’re all just sitting there waiting for a fish to bite. If you’re lucky, you’ll go home with more than just a great photo of a trophy fish – you’ll also have a treasured memory.

The Kids Fishing Shop is located at http://www.TheKidsFishingShop.com.

Bass Fishing At Night What Live Baits Work

August 8th, 2011 Comments off

Bass fishing at night is peaceful and calming sometimes.  If you have never lit into a lunker largemouth bass at night your are missing out! Excitement is everywhere! If you catch a 5lb or bigger large mouth bass at night you will be hooked for life! There is nothing like it!  The main reason I go night fishing for bass is because of little to no fishing pressure, and of course the chance to catch a 5lb’der plus.  Night fishing can be a very rewarding way to spend a

Hit Fishing Show Joins Fox Sports Net; Addictive Fishing to Reach More than 81 Million Households Nationwide

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) July 2, 2006

Addictive Fishing, the half-hour saltwater fishing show credited with revolutionizing outdoor sports programming, announces that it will be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net. Addictive Fishing will reach more than 81 million households nationwide when the program begins airing on FSN on Sundays. The first show airs on July 2.

“We’re so amped to be joining the FSN family,” says Addictive Fishing co-creator and producer Kevin McCabe. “Now the whole country can see what why we’re so not your typical fishing show.”

Addictive Fishing currently reaches more than 6.3 million viewers throughout Florida every week on Florida’s Sun Sports Network.

Addictive Fishing has often been called the MTV of fishing shows, with its hyperkinetic camera work and hyper-caffeinated host, Captain Blair Wiggins (A.K.A, The Mogan Man, a nickname combining words “biggans” and “monsters.” Both mean big fish). Blair’s surfer dude good looks and skill with a lure have attracted a following whose enthusiasm is more common among rock star fans than fishing show viewers. Addictive Fishing’s fanatical fans even refer to themselves as “Mogan Maniacs.”

“We pack more rod bendin’, drag screamin’ action into thirty minutes than most shows manage in an entire season,” explains McCabe.

This jam-packed season promises plenty of surprises, with episodes bringing viewers along on fantasy trips to fishing hotspots around Florida — and the globe.

“We’re taking you to fight record-setting trout on the Space Coast and angle for super-exotic peacock bass on the Amazon’s Rio Negro in Brazil — all kinds of cool fishing adventures,” Capt. Blair says.

Addictive Fishing is the brainchild of Blair Wiggins and Kevin McCabe, who turned a lifelong friendship and love of fishing into what’s fast becoming something of a multi-media empire, combining TV, Internet, music (original scoring for the shows), tradeshows, tournaments, and even signature apparel and fishing gear ventures.

“Addictive Fishing is way more than a TV show,” McCabe says.

What’s more, the Addictive Fishing team is concocting the sort of pixilated pixie dust that most TV shows only dream of, with big league outdoor industry sponsors like Ranger Boats, Evinrude, Johnsonville Brats and Carolina Lunker Sauce jumping aboard.

Fishing Website Reels In Fishing Enthusiasts With Launch of Blog

Black Mountain, NC (PRWEB) July 23, 2009

When Thomas Miller launched his fishing website in June 2009, he knew it was destined for success. “I’ve been a fisherman all my life, since I was 7, and I know about every fishing gadget out there,” Miller said. “I think I’ve got a lot to share with others who want to take up fishing, even the professionals.”

Miller’s website, http://www.FishingTackleOverstock.com, boasts some of the finest fishing tackle selected by Miller himself. “The most important item in the tackle box is the fishing reel, and I’ve gone around and selected the best fishing reels on the market,” Miller said.

“The newest thing out there is the Wavespin reels, which are the first fishing reels that never tangle,” Miller said. “Choosing Wavespin reels was a no brainer, every fisherman needs one of these, and they even come with a DVD that includes instructions for use and Doug Hannon’s the five seasons of bass, a professional tutorial for bass fishing.”

Miller has also taken strides to choose the best lures and make them available on his website. “When I wanted to expand my selection to have more than just reels, I decided on snake lures, which are great for all kinds of fishing.”

With experience from several national competitions and tours, Miller considers himself a professional fisherman. With the launch of his new blog at http://www.FishingTackleGuru.com, Miller hopes to reach out to fishing enthusiasts around the world and provide a medium for rich discussion about the art and benefits of fishing.

“I think one of the most enjoyable parts of fishing is sharing stories and techniques with other fishermen, and that’s what I hope to do with the blog,” said Miller. “I also want to emphasize that fishing is an activity kids and teens can enjoy, and it can help keep them out of trouble.”

Miller is confident experienced and amateur fisherman will find themselves at home on his website, and hopes to expand in the near future by providing a broader selection of fishing tackle.

Skeptic Turned Fishing Fanatic Hooks Consumers with Ice-Fishing-Focused Blog

Momence, IL (PRWEB) January 21, 2010

For the past 27 years, Diane Huizenga has basked in the simple pleasures of fishing – both in the open water and ice. With a dedication of one to two fishing expeditions per week, no one could have ever guessed that she started out as a skeptic, with a hint of repugnance.

“I married a fisherman (by hobby, not profession) and he coaxed me into fishing for my first time. After about six to eight months of practice, I finally let go of my unjustified negative outlook and began to enjoy it for its many simple pleasures,” Huizenga said.

Now a full-blown fishing advocate, Huizenga has transformed her passion into a prosperous online business, http://www.FishTiger.net, which provides equipment, apparel and accessories for both open-water and ice fishing to other enthusiasts, or first timers, nationwide.

“Some people make fishing a chore; for me, it’s enjoyment and quality time with my family,” she said. “I love its all-encompassing nature: the birds, the frogs, the live bait and the tug of your line, which floods you with a wonderful excitement.”

For excitement of your very own, shoppers are encouraged to frequent the Web site as Huizenga will continue to update her inventory with new merchandise. Just on the horizon is an assortment of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and high-tech fish finders. Isn’t technology grand?

“As a female ice fisher, I’ve only ever seen one other woman in my journeys, which should give my Web site and blog a fresh perspective,” Huizenga said.

Additionally, she plans to provide company product reviews, in comparison to her personal reviews, on her newly formulated blog, http://www.FishTigerBlog.com.

Whether you’re looking to snag that 40-pound carp (one of Huizenga’s proudest accomplishments) or take your children fishing for the first time (she recommends blue gill fishing), FishTiger.net will provide you with all of the necessary resources to promise a good time.

HireAFishingGuide.com Hooks Fishermen, Launches First Automated Fishing Guide Referral Site

Stoughton, WI (PRWEB) March 18, 2010

HireAFishingGuide.com launches the first automated national fishing guide and charter referral service. A marriage between technology and fishing, the website matches anglers to its membership of professional fishing guides and charter boat captains.

Thomas Lulinski is a managing partner with the company and explains, “Our business model capitalizes on the web’s ability to allow small companies to compete on a national stage and to grow quickly with an innovative idea.”

The company’s leading-edge website stands out in a crowded market that simply lists fishing guides and charters. Web users will not find fishing guides listed or advertising on the company’s website. The website integrates a mapping interface with its membership database to match web users to a reputable fishing guide that is available when and where they would like to fish.

The company’s management insists that the website’s automation is a key to its success. The website immediately emails and text messages fishing guide requests to its appropriate members. Many of the website’s users are contacted by an available fishing guide just moments after submitting their request.

Referral services are abundant in many industries yet none are serving the fishing guide and charter market on a national scale. The company introduces both parties with emails without cost or obligation for the websites users. Matt Dahlgren, one of the two managing partners states, “Our website fills a void in this market. Many people do not know where to turn when booking a fishing trip. We are a safe and easy alternative to hiring a fishing guide without a personal referral.”

The fishing guides and fishing charters that are part of the HireAFishingGuide.com network provide the company with insurance certificates and license information, where required, before becoming members. HireAFishingGuide.com members are continually rated by anglers using the website assuring users of professional results. The company’s membership is growing daily.

The launch of the website provides users a safe and easy way to hire a professional fishing guide. The automation and innovation behind the website shows how small businesses are using the web to compete nationally.

Trout’s Fly Fishing Opens Winter Fly Tying Demonstrations with Colorado’s Renowned Tier Andrew Grillos

Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 2, 2010

Trout’s Fly Fishing, Denver’s premier fly fishing shop and resource center, is launching its Winter 2010 Fly Tying Demonstration Series on Saturday, Oct. 16th with an exclusive demonstration, discussion and instruction session by one of Colorado’s top fly fishing guides, Andrew Grillos.

Grillos, a full-time fly fishing guide out of Gunnison and serving the Gunnison River and Gorge, Taylor Reservoir, the East River, the Lake Fork of the Gunnison, and the Arkansas River, is a Signature Tier for the renowned line of Idylwilde flies, and Guide Ambassador for Simms Fishing Products, the nation’s top angling resource for fishing performance wear and gear. In addition to guiding fly fishing excursions in Colorado, Grillos also guides for top outfitters in Alaska, Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand. The experienced guide and angler has been fly fishing since the age of 10 and tying his own flies since he was 14 years old.

“Andrew’s unique fly designs are recognized and widely distributed throughout the world,” says Tucker Ladd, owner of Trout’s Fly Fishing. “His fly designs are typically inspired by a desire to solve specific problems that he’s encountered while guiding around the world. Anyone interested in tying flies and the nuances of fly fishing can’t miss this event.”

The fly tying demonstrations at Trout’s Fly Fishing are part of the shop’s Angling University, a regular series of classes and demonstrations covering everything fly fishing, from the basics of the sport and fly tying, to casting, entomology and instruction for children. In addition there are also private instructions on fly fishing, and guided fly fishing excursions of a few hours to days in length on the rivers and waterways of Colorado.

“Whether it’s teaching children to fish, learning to dry fly fish for western trout, mastering the art of casting to wary saltwater fish, or learning to tie your own flies, we have the instructors and classes for you,” adds Ladd.

Trout’s Fly Fishing in 2010 is marking its 15th anniversary serving the sport and its devoted practitioners with fly fishing gear, fishing reports, education, short-term guide services and destination travel booking for the serious fly fisher.

First cast on Denver’s Old South Gaylord in 1995, Trout’s was purchased five years ago by Ladd, a long-time fly fishing, back packing and wilderness guide who decided to take his love for fly fishing and his experience to the next level. In 2007, Ladd moved the shop to 1303 E. 6th Ave., halfway between Downtown Denver and Cherry Creek, and since then the shop has grown to more than 3,000 square feet of space dedicated to every aspect of Colorado angling.

The shop features a complete array of fishing equipment, including rods, reels and line, and thousands of stocked flies with more than 2400 open bins — the largest selection of flies available anywhere in the Western U.S. There is also gear ranging from waders, nets, vests and packs, to fishing bags, apparel and outerwear. Trout’s Fly Fishing also arranges guided fly fishing outings in Colorado, teaming up with the Flyfisher Guide Service, including 4- to 5-hour trips, full day outings, and group and corporate fly fishing trips. Ladd and his staff as well can help in booking destination travel for guided freshwater and saltwater fly fishing trips at many locations throughout the world.

The Andrew Grillos demonstration is free, and scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday October 17 in the Angling University classrooms at Trout’s Fly Fishing, 1303 E. 6th Ave. in Denver. Space is limited and registration required by calling 303-733-1434 and on the web at http://www.troutsflyfishing.com.
